Hands on Training in Intellectual Property Rights and Bioethics 5th September 2015

MHRD Chair on Intellectual Property Rights & Centre for Intellectual Property Rights and Advocacy (CIPRA), National Law School of India University, association with Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy, Bangalore & Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, the Indian Pharmaceutical Association and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bengaluru organised Programme on Hands on Training in Intellectual Property Rights and Bioethics  on 5th September 2015 at International Training Centre, NLSIU

Mr. Vivek Anand Sagar,Research Associate, CIPRA, welcomed the participant,Prof. Shantha Kumar G.S, Professor,Department of Industrial Pharmacy, Acharya B M Reddy College of Pharmacy; Bangalore graced the occasion and Prof. (Dr.) R. Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, NLSIU delivered presidential address.

 Prof. (Dr) T. Ramakrishna, spoke on the Pharmaceutical Patents in the 1st Technical Session and Law of Designs in the 2nd Technical Session.

The participants were from the pharmaceutical Industry, Post Graduate students in Pharmacy, Research Scholars & Teaching Faculty in pharmacy institution, Researchers from Research Laboratories and Employees of Pharmaceutical Industry.

The objective of the program was :
a) to make researchers aware of the need to protect new knowledge generated by obtaining IP rights, determine ownership of biological, other materials used by them.
b) to provide appropriate technological, professional and legal expertise to assist researchers to file patents in India and abroad.
c) to encourage and provide all support to universities and other institution for protecting and commercializing new knowledge generation with DBT support
